Clematis bloom cycle?

I purchased a small ruby-glow cleamtis plant this spring and want to know if I can expect blooms this summer.

Thanks!

Clematis bloom cycle?
It should. Mine bloom the first year. They do not like all shade, a little sun is needed. My tree has grown %26amp; shades mine more, so it doesn't bloom as well.
Reply:Next time you purchase a plant be sure to ask all the questions you can think of about the plant especially if it is a home and garden store, they know. I have a few varieties of clematis plants and I have purchased all in the spring and have always had blooms the same summer. To help blooms start, plant food is good to use, I like "Miracle Grow" the best.
