Another clematis question-?

I have had horrible luck with clematis plants! I recently went away for a couple of days, and living in the windy city discovered that the clematis plants I had on the patio were strewn all over the place. Can I replant them and hope for the best? The foliage looks dried up. I am uncertain of just how long they were out of the pot and on the cement. Do you think they will be ok?

Another clematis question-?
Cut them back and re pot them. Be sure to water them well. Then wait until the spring and see what happens. To avoid plants coming out of the pots use a large deep pot and place rocks in the bottom to add weight.
Reply:Give it a shot. You've probably replanted them already but if you haven't go ahead and do it now. They're perennials and come back every spring.

Yours may be ok.

If you want to know if they are still alive or dead scratch a piece of the vine closest to the soil level. If when you scratch you see green then your plant is still alive and there is hope. But even mine right now are brown and dead looking getting ready for hibernation.
